TD-12
A relaxed day, got to clean up the dorm some and catch my breath
TD-13
We earned our name today! Now we are the Delta Dragons. Our pennant is blue so I can only assume that we breath lightning.
TD-14
Half Way!
If we sing "living on a prayer" one more time I think the FTOs will kill us. In other news, we had to switch dorms today, which meant cramming all our belongings into a bag and walking to our new home at Juliet flight.
TD-15
Rough day. This new dorm kinda sucks. The FTO is a hardcore inspector and we are all still kinda confused from the move.
TD-16
Returned to the Delta dorm today to find that it is much nicer here, the AC is better. We have a new CTA, he's pretty freakin' cool except for the fact that he love the work up with us all the time*. Also our frisbee team is undefeated thus far.
*tavi's note: i gots no idea what he was trying to say there
TD-17
Inspection day today: Our inspector was none other than Captain Anger (Yes that is his real name). The uniform inspection went well but the room inspection was brutal. Oh well... At least I know I would have done better if he was in a good mood. OH! and we watched a movie today. fun! |

[Jun. 27th, 2005|09:29 pm] |
TD-5
so yesterday a CTA JOKED WITH US! WOW! that's new!
so today I passed my drill evaluation and got to walk around boxes
TD-6
Got to shoot guns today. 9mm handguns fun. I found out that I can't
shoot for crap. Well, at least I'm not trying to join security forces
anyways.
TD-7
Bad day, got 100 bucks though WOOT! colin is getting his money. Otherwise a BAD DAY.
TD-8
GOOD DAY! Much better. The team work here has really improved and now
we get to motivate! I'm tired but the spirit is strong here at Tyndall.
TD-9
We hit the obstacle course today. It was a great experience. I learned
that I can do things I never thought I could do before. Really, really
cool and we got to play frisbee we won 11-3.
TD-10
DOUBLE DIGITS
and we watched a movie today. pretty relaxed all in all. Not much to
report. I didn't get a whole 30 minutes to eat lunch today. It was with
the commanders of the encampment who are really cool.
*tavi's note: i think ray meant he did get a whole 30 minutes
TD-11
Sundays rock. we get the whole morning to ourselves. Rocked my fitness test today and wrote many letters.

TD-0
Hey folks, the intrepid Cadet Geoffroy here. I'm about 20 minutes outside of Atlanta now, the flight has gone by quite uneventfully. I'd like to thank y'all for checking in on me and hope you enjoy this little LJ experiment of mine.
-Mmm lines: something tells me I'll be seeing a few today.
-OH GOD! What am I getting myself into. On the bright side, I got Flight Academic Officer for a job. FUN!
TD-1
4.30 am wake up to whistle blowing (fun)
6.30 breakfast: nearly puked (real fun)
4 HOURS OF BRIEFING!
HAHA I saw a CTA smile. They might be human.
TD-2
PT KILLED But doing okay now. Guess what? I can eat a meal in 7 minutes now. More briefings today, much fun. Being academic officer is pretty cool. I get to be the smart guy. Already testing some ways to make us smarter.
TD-3
Good day over all. Eating has gotten easier, still not fun. Beautiful sunset tonight. Its pretty easy to forget how beautiful it is down here. Making beds is fun, well not really. Oh well.
TD-4
Went to church today. (Its Sunday) New experience for me. I've never seen people who are that into religion. Passed the fitness test today (hurah!) 341 count is a 3 now. Got to get better at being careful. |

Well, it's now been a week since Ray left for Field Training. I've had no word yet. I'll let you all in the internet world know when I do. |

| | none | ] | This is Tavi filling all you people in while Ray is off at Field training. He will be sending me a few sentences about each day when he writes me, and I will forward them to all y'all out there in the world. One thing that he could really use this month is mail. If you'd like to write him something, you can call or email me and i'll give you his address. Something VERY IMPORTANT: no care packages, letters with glitter or anything that will get all over his uniform or very innappropriate material (you probably shouldn't write anything other than the address on the outside of the envelope also) and don't send any mail after July 2nd, because it won't really get to him before he has to leave (the base doesn't want to deal with lots of mail they have to return). I guess that's about it for now. Ray at least made it to Atlanta- he called me from the airport, but i won't know if he's still alive or well until he sends me a letter sometime next week. In other news, we have our apartment! It is mostly set up! Ray is moving in once he gets back from field training and things are a little less crazy. and.... i will keep everybody posted later |

Alright, the bags are packed I have my orders. I'm official ready with 3 weeks to go before Field Training. Well, actually my paperwork is all set, personally I'm flipping out. The TSgt. here says that it expected but that doesn't make me feel any better. I have began a HARDCORE exercise plan of doing gym time every other day and running every day. Davy is all of his awesomeness has agreed to be my gym buddy for the next few weeks while I physically condition myself for a world of hurt. In the way of mental preparation, my FT manual has become my nightly read. The thing reads like the instructions for a watch, so at the very least it does put me right to sleep. I would now like to make any official request for mail while I'm at FT if you'd like to get my mailing info please reply w/ your e-mail address, I will send a mass e-mail with my FT contact info and details to those interested. Lastly, I am going to try something interesting. Though I will lack a CPU at FT I will try to post some LJs about FT via snail mail. Tavi will recieve letters with messages from me and she'll post them. I figure this might be an easy way to keep everyone up to date. Later! -Ray |

| RANDOM UPDATE! |
[Apr. 19th, 2005|08:44 am] |
|
Ahh... Nothing beats a Field Training style workout followed up with a HUGE b'fast. (thats breakfast for those of you out of the loop) I love the fact that Air Force has reintroduced me to the alien concept of breakfast; a meal which I ignored for the 6 years prior to UMASS. The real funny thing is that by eating in the morning I end up eating less later and have a higher metabolism throughout the day, thus I lose weight through eating. Damn what a sweet deal, what a sweet fuckin' deal. For now, spirits here are high and life goes on smoothly. Enough talk, there are essays to write! HI HO WORD PROCESSOR!. |

| Ray trys to start some discussion! |
[Apr. 12th, 2005|08:20 am] |
Guh... Life is starting to get a little busy. If its not enough that school is hammering away at my sanity there is also the whole month of intense military training in florida chewing on my nerves too. Honestly, I'm beginging to think that the worst part of field training is waiting to go and putting together millions of worse case scenarios daily. Oh well, I guess this is what I signed myself up for. I just really hope that the work I'm doing now will end up putting me in a position where I can do some good in the world. I know people out there think that no good can come from the military, but I'm one naive son of a bitch. The worlds become a pretty ugly place over the past few decades and I'm not denying that the choices of our leaders in the U.S. haven't at least helped to cause this. I really think that its high time that people stop simply commenting on the world going to hell in a handbasket and try to set it right. I guess that what makes me try so hard to succeed. Heres hoping to a better world where crazy folks like me won't be needed so much. Please folks if you have any comments on the topic of War and/or Peace feel free to post. But enough serious discussion I have a paper to write and shoes to polish. |

[Mar. 28th, 2005|05:04 pm] |
WOOT! ROTC is giving me a 15,000 dollar scholarship. (Thats right, count the zeros!) This means that I am COMPLETLY financial secure for collage. Just figured that it was worth bragging about. To coincide with this great event I also found out that I will be going to Florida this June for Field Training. Assuming all goes well I'll be moving into my apartment sometime around early July. So I figured I'd just drop that news onto the web. Also, as soon as I can figure it out, I'll be posting a few pictures from the base vist. In the mean time, I leave ya'll with joy, happiness and indigestion from yesterdays food fest known as Easter. Ciao! |

Well I'm off to Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. Gonna see me a couple of fighter planes. (with any luck I'll see their latest aquisition the F-22 raptor) I'm sure I'll come back with some awesome stories which I'll tell ya'll when I get back. See ya on thursday. |

[Mar. 2nd, 2005|09:17 pm] |
Hey folks: Just fugured I'd drop a word or two into the ol' LJ universe. Though I must admit, I have surprisingly little to speak about. Umm... Hmm... lets see... I have determined that writing essays is in fact less stressful than worrying about them and that I can make a damn near decent stir-fry if I try (the secret ingredient is people mmmm soylent green) Aside from that little is going on. I should probably get some sleep before PT tomorrow. Ciao. |

[Feb. 28th, 2005|09:53 pm] |

So Best Buy has opened up recently at the local mall. This would not be as exciting if it weren't for the fact that, thanks to my lovely girl, I am currently addicted to an anime series called Gundam Seed. I now poses 7/10 of the DVDs, the remaining three have yet to come out. To sum the series up in simple terms its a soap opera... with fuck-off huge robots. Possible names for the series are as follows "Days of our giant robots" "As the huge fuckin robot turns" and of course "All my Gudams" or just "HOLY FUCKING SHIT! HE JUST FUCKING STABBED OFF THAT FUCKING ROBOT'S HEAD AND IT'S STILL FIGHTING!" Anyways, all is well, my brain is full of robots and there is NO PT in the morning. Thank you... good night. |

[Feb. 9th, 2005|01:21 pm] |
Well i have my assignment for ROTC this semester,I'm in charge of recruiting people, this is going to be interesting. Stay tuned for more details. Also after an awesome conversation with my ROTC mentor and one hour strait of drill (marching) I'm beginning to feel like this field training thing won't be so bad. (for those of you new to the concept, field training is a four week uber boot camp that trains ROTC cadets) Speaking of which, it sounds like in the fall Uncle Sam will start helping me out with a military stipend and hopefully a scholarship. In other news I've completed the paperwork for (drum roll) MY APARTMENT! Now we watch as the fecal matter collides with the oscillating air circulation device, this of course will happen when dad finds out that I am not in fact going to take his advice about not living with Tavi. |

| Winter blues... or greys really |
[Jan. 13th, 2005|01:24 pm] |
So I don't know how many of you live around western Mass. but if you do I'm sure that you are well aware that we have entered that lovely period of time in which THE ENTIRE WORLD IS GREY! Yes, the post-christmas/pre-easter months are upon us and seasonal depression is looming over the masses. I would like to take this time to remind people to do whatever they can to keep the weather from getting you down. Stay active, eat well, try to make more time for freinds, anything to keep your head out of the clouds. With that said I wish you all a good rest-of-winter. Peace out y'all! -Rayzor |

| BOO YA ver. 2.0 |
[Jan. 12th, 2005|10:49 pm] |
Its that time that comes twice a year... GRADES and once again I came, I saw and I kicked its proverbial ass! I got 3.414 GPA for this semester. With any luck this'll get me that scholorship I need seeing as Mom and Dad (well really just Mom) are telling me that I'm on my own for the last two years of college. I'll try to write more often (I hope). It should be a little bit easier now that I have a NEW COMPUTER (insert angelic choir)! I lost the old one right around half way through the semester. R.I.P. geckoslair (my hard drive) I loved you man. You'll not be forgotten. (sniff) WHY!!!!!!!!!! |

Yay PT! Nothing quite like waking up at an obsenely earily hour to go work out. Though to be quite honest I reallly had fun. Maybe I am finally getting the hang of this, or perhaps I'm just losing my marbles. Either way I'll see where this is going. Gotta go iron some clothes... so... bye (runs away) |

| Long Freakin' Week |
[Sep. 11th, 2004|10:00 pm] |
Boy oh boy I finally have a chance to chill for a little while. It seems like I've been in high gear for a week. Why Ray? What could have brought on so much toil and fatigue? Glad you asked; you see, when a man and a woman love eachother very much babies happen, such is the case for my sister and bro-in-law. The two love birds are now the happy parents of a beautiful baby girl. I've been visiting them quite often as well as helping Drew in making a nursery. Also school started for me this week. I'm adjusting well to student life (especially because tavi now comes to UMASS as well). My classes are all pretty cool and seem like they'll be fun. Of course with school there comes another year of ROTC, yup its back to push ups and running for me. To makes things even more interesting I have been appointed the position of Personnel Officer of the detachment. Basically I am now in charge of sending out communications and keeping tabs on whats going on in and around the cadet corps (Kinda like Oracle for you comic fans)this also makes me the deputy to every over officer in the corps, dang. well I'll be busy the next few weeks but I'll try my hardest to update more often then I have lately. After all, everybody wants to know about my life, right?... Never mind. Status report: Girlfriend: Tired but happy Niece: Done Gerbil: Gerbiltastic School: meh ROTC: oh crap oh crap oh crap Sleep: sounds good ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ |

[Aug. 20th, 2004|10:33 am] |
So yesturday in a fit of impulse shopping I bought my first warhammer model kit. Thats not the problem mind you, what scares me is the fact that I bought a CHAOS DEFILER! Andrew, Jon and myself built in about four hours and today I hope to get it primed and start painting. I'll try to get a picture up sometime. As for what I'm gonna do with it, I really don't know. I think I'll give it to Joe, he seems to like it I can't imagine why... |

Yeah! Ray has a car again, sadly the repair bill came up to 389 dollars (so much for that book money) At least I have wheels again. Now I'm listening to Jon's not-so-great OC remixes but I'll deal see ya world. |
